Miglior musicista assoluto nel 1985 al concorso nazionale “Viva i Giovani” e nel 1992 vince il premio “Top Jazz” come miglior talento italiano. Nel 1995 è “miglior talento” dalla rivista “Fare
Musica”.
Dal 1998 al 2001 Mauro Negri è stato membro fisso nel quartetto del batterista francese Aldo Romano, con il quale ha tenuto concerti in tutto il mondo.
