YouJazz presents the new video course “The Trickster” in collaboration with the bassist, keyboardist and producer Riccardo Oliva, where you will learn to manage even the most complex harmonic progressions with simplicity and you will discover how to develop a melodic approach during comping.
The course is divided into 4 chapters, where you will be guided by Maestro Oliva in the construction of a well-developed solo using the major and minor pentatonic scales. Each topic is accompanied by practical examples that you can listen to and study with the help of the transcriptions.

Riccardo Oliva is a bassist, keyboardist and producer from Palermo. He starts playing drums first and then electric bass and piano. His musical influences derive mainly from jazz-fusion and electronic music. In 2017 he plays the role of bassist in the group “SNIPS” with Matteo Mancuso and Salvatore Lima and is co-composer, bassist and keyboardist of the album “Yoshi” by “Kawa Nanuk”. In 2018 he moved to Milan and in 2020/21 he is co-composer, bassist and secondary keyboardist of “Picaresque”, album by “Fool Arcana”. During these years he plays with many artists including the young accordionist Anatole Muster, Matteo Mancuso, Ze in the Clouds, Davide Shorty, Ada Rovatti and is bassist and keyboardist in the duo “Twins Not Twins” with drummer Gianluca Pellerito. In March 2023 he is the bassist of the group of Jack Gardiner and Owane which will open the 30 concerts of the European tour of the guitarist Plini.
He currently holds the role of musical director and bassist of “Fool Arcana” and bassist / keyboardist in the duo “Twins Not Twins”, along with various collaborations with various artists of the Milanese scene and beyond.
